What if I would love to attend,
really want to learn these skills, but cash is tight right now?
Contact Anita directly and discuss an easy payment plan.
Considering my current skill and experience level, what if I’m just not sure what I should enroll in?
Contact Anita directly and discuss the most effective course for you.
How do I find out about
private coaching
or training?
Contact Anita directly. Many options are available; you can fly to
Las Vegas or Anita will fly to you. You can opt for one, two, three, or
four days of private, one-on-one hands-on coaching, including personalized
dictionary work. Recommendation: three days of private
training.
If my NCRA CEUs expire in
September of this year and I would like to attend an event in October,
November,
or December, or January of the next year, is that okay? Will I qualify for
NCRA credits? Can I also use these credits for my state
qualifications?
Yes. You can get a 120-day extension by requesting it in writing to NCRA.
All states honor these seminars and workshops for state credits.
If I am a Texas CSR, can I
earn all of the necessary credits at one weekend, whether I attend ta
workshop in Texas or a different city? Yes. You can earn all of your
credits, including Ethics, at almost all of our regular workshops
(check with Anita for final clarification). All Texas events qualify
for TCRA credits.
What if I’m really a beginner?
Will I be totally lost? Might I be embarrassed if anyone views my screen?
Not at all. The Realtime Mastery Workshop has trained thousands of
reporters at all levels, including very beginning levels. We do not view
your screen. Your work is for you alone.
As an entry-level realtime reporter, you will gain a total perspective and
perhaps the equivalent of a year's worth of exposure and understanding in one weekend,
along with guidelines on what to work on in the ensuing months that
follow.
Would attending all four days be too much? I’m very eager to learn
and excel in my skills as quickly as possible, but I don't want to be
burned out.
Attending all four days is what some folks call
a “Boot Camp” or “Immersion Training.” Based on experience, it is the
fastest, most economical way to gain tremendous knowledge, maximize your
investment of time and money, and enjoy an extremely focused, intense,
motivated, total experience. The last day is not hands on; it is a seminar format, featuring videos,
group discussion and interaction, and you’ll have a lot of fun!
What if I enroll and then
need to cancel?
Your fee may be 100% transferred to a different date. Your credit is
always good and is transferable to another person. If you wish a refund,
the cancellation needs to be prior to 20 days before the first day
the event commences, and there is a administrative fee charge of $50.
Should I order your conflicts,
prefix, and/or NUMBERS/ALPHABET drill CDs in advance? Will you have
product available at the workshops?
Many folks order the CDs in advance to save money and to get
a jumpstart on their realtime journey. They can be shipped immediately.
Yes, a limited quantity of product is available at the workshops. Also,
our Finger Exercise Book and Realtime Word Log (a place to log all
new words and phrases you choose to work on) is available for immediate
shipment.
What should I do to prepare
for the workshop?
Make sure your writer, computer, and realtime cable are working properly.
Know how to set up and access realtime and make dictionary entries
while in realtime (if your software has that capability). You
do not need to know how to edit from the steno keyboard; editing from the
computer keyboard is fine.
Test
everything in
advance. If you need a USB-serial adapter,
be sure to bring it. Please arrive early – we start on time.
You may still attend if you do not have the appropriate equipment. It’s
best to discuss it with Anita in advance. And remember your software key
and power strip.
Should I take a telephone
seminar, an online seminar, or go to a live event?
There’s value in any training you decide to participate in. If you function
well in a very positive environment with great energy, the live workshop
is still very effective, fun, and educational. Some reporters
get excited and a renewed enthusiasm about their careers, their growing
skills, and rekindled confidence. Some find jobs, create partnerships,
make new friends, learn about what others charge, develop excellent realtime
skills in the shortest time, etc. Some people cherish the opportunity
to get away from daily life or plan a fun vacation. Also, remember, travel
and training expenses are a writeoff on your taxes – check with your tax
advisor or accountant.
Anita,
do you need any assistance at the workshops?
We sometimes do. Call Anita (702) 240-8455.
